Storm damage 2006
| This is what we awoke to Friday Dec 15th. The previous night we had winds over 100 km/h. I had added 2 extra guy wires just for this storm. Obviously, it was not enough. | |
| Another shot of the damage. | |
| In addition to the tree damage, all 5 arches have quite a lean now, as well as many of the smaller pieces knocked over. | |
| Another view of the damage. | |
| Temporary signage. |
|
| The rebuild went on during the show. We had the mast up in less than 2 hours. | |
| Sorting out the guy wires. | |
| The new mast assembled and going up. Thanks to Guillevin International (One of our sponsors) for coming through with the new mast on such short notice. It was waiting for me in my driveway when I got home on Friday afternoon. |
|
| Securing the guy wires. |
|
| Lower guys in place, and working on the uppers. | |
| 36 hours
from a pile of bent metal and wires to the tree setup again. Notice
there is no star on the new tree. Unfortunately, it was damaged
beyond repair.
I couldn't have rebuilt it this quickly without the help of my neighbor, Glenn Wereschuk. Thanks.
